Riot Recovery
A new weekly meeting for anyone who wants to talk about their substance abuse recovery, mental health, revolutionary politics, or all of the above. We’ll be starting small without a solid structure or goals and decide at the beginning of each meeting via consensus what the meeting will look like. If the meetings grow, we’ll consider branching off into separate meetings that address specific issues, but for now all are welcome to come talk about pretty much anything. Think of it as a recovery meeting where we’re also training ourselves in organizing. We’ll have plenty of coffee and snacks in the kitchen. Masking encouraged in the meeting area. DM for virtual link.

Budget Justice challenges everything you thought you knew about “dull” and daunting government budgets. It shows how the latter confuse and mislead the public by design, not accident. Arguing that they are moral documents that demand grassroots participation to truly work for everyone, the book shows how everyday citizens can shape policy to tackle everything from rising housing and food costs to unabated police violence, underfunded schools, and climate change–driven floods and wildfires.
Commonist Horizon: How do we move from defensive tactics to transformative, strategic revolts, attacking the root causes of urban oppression and putting into practice alternative forms of urban life? One proposal for such a revolutionary alternative to capital’s organization of our lived environment has been the commons, wherein inhabitants communally control the conditions that make up their daily lives.
